    Plaquenil remission

It's used to treat and prevent malaria infection, and to reduce symptoms and progression of autoimmune diseases such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and others. Malaria is spread by mosquitoes, which transmit the parasites that cause the infection, usually in tropical and subtropical parts of the world.

Two plaquenil a day and 2400 mg of ibuprofen a day that's 12 regular dose! and I went into total remission. Of course my stomach is crap now. After 25 years of remission, the RA returned. Different now that I'm older 55, more subtle. Chose plaquenil again, and working wonders, but for my permanent damage. Get your eyes checked, a must. Partial lupus remission, which is a period in which a person experiences relief from lupus symptoms, is considered common. Unfortunately, partial lupus remission is only temporary, and symptoms eventually return. 4. It looks like they've caught it 'early' and that being on Plaquenil for the next few years may put it into complete remission. I'm doing really well on Plaquenil and have been far less dependent on Prednisone. If the Plaquenil helps you, then you have some form of connective tissue disease/inflammatory condition. Good luck!

Since there is presently no cure for systemic lupus erythematosus SLE, remission is the ultimate goal in its treatment. Even though there have been a number of studies on remission in SLE in the past few decades, they used different definitions of the concept. The more common usage of the term remission would be to be “in remission on medications, or quiescent." This means that the person with lupus is taking Plaquenil® hydroxychloroquine and/or other medications and is doing well with no evidence of lupus manifestations such as arthritis, rash, kidney involvement, blood cell count problems, etc. In rare cases, Plaquenil can adversely affect the eyes, and patients taking this medicine should be seen by an ophthalmologist at least once a year. Some will even achieve a remission while.

Plaquenil and bruising? NOW ALL OVER BODY RASH! Low blood counts can cause this so it may be something you need to bring to your doc. I'm not sure if Plaquenil lowers blood counts or not. I know since I'm on Methotrexate I have to keep an eye on this because it can lower my blood counts. My doc said that bruising commonly happens when you are on immunosuppressants.
