Oh Serenity, I once tried to go OFF plaquenil before taking Isoniazid to lessen the burden on my liver. It was a very bad idea. I got the symptoms Lynnwood described going off the plaquenil and had such bad heart problems that I went right back on. And I was only off for a day or so. My legs swelled up really bad and I got edema everywhere. Discussion. Echocardiographic findings of HCQ cardiomyopathy are variable, ranging from increased ventricular wall thickness with or without dilatation and systolic or diastolic dysfunction and can mimic other causes of myocardial dysfunction in SLE patients such as myocarditis, amyloidosis, ischemic heart disease, other toxic drugs eg, amiodarone, and rarely, Fabry disease or other storage. Heart problems like heart failure and a certain abnormal heartbeat prolonged QT interval have happened with Plaquenil hydroxychloroquine. Sometimes, these heart problems have been deadly. Sometimes, these heart problems have been deadly.

The differential diagnosis for new onset non-ischemic cardiomyopathy in this patient included inflammatory cardiomyopathy, viral myocarditis, sarcoidosis, amyloidosis, hemochromatosis, Fabry's disease and HCQ toxicity. Coronary angiography demonstrated non-obstructive coronary disease. Treatment was initiated with guideline directed medical therapy, and patient clinically improved.

Plaquenil is the brand name for the prescription drug hydroxychloroquine. It's used to treat and prevent malaria infection, and to reduce symptoms and progression of autoimmune diseases such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and others. Malaria is spread by mosquitoes. In rare cases, Plaquenil can cause cardiomyopathy, a chronic disease of the heart muscle. If you're taking Plaquenil for an autoimmune condition, your symptoms should begin to improve after a few. Though serious heart muscle disease is not commonly caused by lupus, heart failure can occur if your heart does not have the strength to pump enough blood to the different tissues and organs. Endocarditis. The endocardium is the tissue that lines the inner walls of your heart and the valves that separate the heart’s different chambers.

Has anyone experienced increased back and joint pain while. Have been on Eliquis for afib about 6 months twice A day and began having severe pain in back hip joints all over basically. I have osteoarthritis and mild lupus but joint pain is worse when taking med. You are not supposed to stop taking abruptly but when I don't take it the pain is much much less.

I missed my morning Eliquis and didn't realize it until.
